Ummmm, mmmm, mmmmmm!

Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky... Andrew and I met the first time at TRY Conference. He was liking someone else and left for Cincinnati that weekend, but a few years later we met again... and then it was me he was coming to Cincinnati to see. We wrote letters and made phone calls for two years while I was in nursing school, interspersed with a visit here or there. It was hard being apart from the one you are falling in love with, but maybe it was preparing us for this past year. :)
We got married 8 days after I graduated from nursing school... and tomorrow we celebrate 21 years of wedded bliss. :D No, I can't say we've never fought, I can't say I've never been disappointed and he's always been thrilled with me. But what I can say is that I love and respect him, he is an awesome husband, father and provider for our family, and he loves me, like Christ loves the church, unselfishly. I'm so happy he asked me to marry him, at Hickey's Gap Falls(what a name), in Georgia... I would have been pretty stupid to say no!! :) I love you, babe!! Happy Anniversary!

Hey Babe,Happy Anniversary right back at you!! I'm thinking you must have smiled to yourself when you selected that picture, I look like I'd been going 24/7 for the previous 72 hrs:) Oh well, there was only so much to work with! No I think I'm the lucky one! Like I've told you many times you must have gone to school with a bunch of "dumb yankees", for you to still be single when I came back from Alaska in '85!!( how many comments you think that will draw?!)You'll be hearing from me later via snail-mail and courier. I love you more....!! Andrew

This is just the sweetest post. And I love Andrew's comments. Who needs romance novels when I can read your blog! ;-)

hahaha!! That's right Kim, true life is more romantic that romance novels anyway!! LOL!!

Vonnie,

You have no idea how refreshing it is to read a tribute like you just wrote. I have read so many gushy sappy tributes from husbands and wives that honestly make me feel like apparently our marriage is abnormal. (No offense to any reading this who have perhaps written a sappy gushy tribute to your spouse.) However, your tribute sounds exactly like one I would have written to my husband and it feels good to know that our marriage is like at least one other out there. Course it could be that you and I are the only ones willing to be honest?!!! LOL

Happy Anniversary!

Julie

Thanks Julie!! I do believe in being honest, too many people pretend things they aren't. I want my children to know that it isn't abnormal to disagree vehemently with the one you love, but you don't leave them, you work it out. It just keeps getting better and better... I'm not just saying that either. It really is true!

Vonnie, I had to smile at Andrew's comment about the picture you chose of him. That was a very nice tribute...I think that you got a good man (since I'm his baby sister...I'm a tad prejudice) BUT...I think that he got a nice lady too! We love you and are glad you are a part of our family!!

Well....so MANY comments are just flying thru my mind after reading this and it is just so difficult to sort thru them all and decide which ones to type and which ones NOT to type. Some are smart and some are...even smarter...so I will just leave it at this for now...Happy Anniversary!!!!!

Anthony,
Somehow I feel very grateful that you chose NOT to write all the comments that were flying through your mind!! :) Thanks for the anniversary wishes.
