Andrew the PILOT!!!!

No longer a student pilot, he is now the real deal. I am so proud of this man and all he has managed to do over these last months. The stress has been incredible, he is called by too many names and has too many irons in the fire, but somehow everything gets done and gets done well. He's my hero, and I love him more than life itself. Here he is standing next to the Cessna 172 that he trained in for the instrument "stuff". And he turned 43 yesterday, so I will try to post pictures of his birthday party later. :)

Comments

I am really grateful for all of you who comment on my blog. I love reading all of the comments and knowing how you are doing. I do not want to start moderating the comments because it will keep some people from being able to comment, and I don't want that to happen. Therefore, please always leave your name so I know who you are and don't have to wonder if you are a predator. :) Plus I'd love to be able to laugh at your funny jokes that you leave, instead of thinking maybe someone isn't happy with me. Thank you very much!!!

Helping Dad with his ice cream

The three younger boys all thought Andrew needed to share his ice cream and sat around him as he ate (they had already had their own ice cream) and opened their mouths like little birdies while he fed them bites. It was a cute picture anyway. :)

Lawn and Shop

I thought I would give you one last update on the lawn and the shop since we are basically finished with them both. I am thrilled with the lawn except that I am not allowed to cut it short yet. But it is green and lush!!! And I love the outside of the shop. I may be a little "kooky" but I think it looks awesome. My husband is so smart... he knew how good it would look!!!

This is the back yard, with the beginnings of the "fort".

This is the front yard.

And here is the front of the shop. Andrew is going to make a barn style door up at the top where you can see plywood.

Smack your Granny!!!

Well, I just went to the airport and picked up Uncle Carson (Scarbrough) and he just made my evening by pulling about 10 tomatoes out of his suitcase. I'm 'bout to rise up and call him blessed, and whoever else may have thought to send these luscious beauties. (A. Linda) So, of course, it doesn't matter that it was 10:30 p.m. I had to have some with some cottage cheese on top. Oh, I'm in heaven....

Building the playground area

This is a project Andrew started a few weeks ago.... it kind of went along with the landscaping. The kids have needed a swing set/playground for a long time. So Andrew poured concrete to set posts on so he could build a "fort"/swingset. Now they are putting the deck down on the bottom level. Taylor was wanting to help and he looked so cute I had t0 have a picture.

The boy at the top of the picture is Nick, he is a friend of Drew's, and is our neighbor. Grant is at the right in the picture and you can barely see Tyler's head on the left of the picture.

Of course, all the boys wanted to nail so Andrew had them get hammers and set them up to nail away. Drew is at the far end then Taylor, Grant, Tyler and Nick.

We are getting ready to go to our church July 4th picnic. I hope to have more pictures to post but may not be able to get it done today. I made potato salad and brownies. The church is furnishing the hamburgers and hot dogs and everyone else is bringing side dishes. Yum!

Happy Birthday, Kelsea

Today is my niece, Kelsea's, birthday. However, she and her family are traveling back to Virginia today from here and it won't be much of a celebration for her. So we had a little birthday party for her here yesterday. She is 11 years old.

A little something for the birthday girl

Lyn's sisters, Ann and Teresa, are supposed to come to the Atlanta airport to see them today so they can celebrate Kelsea's birthday together. That will help make it a special day. Happy Birthday, Kelsea. We are so happy you could be with us for a while. Maybe you can spend even longer with us some other time.
