Happy Birthday, Heidi

I wanted to post this yesterday..... it was her birthday, yesterday.... but I had computer problems, so I'll post today! My Heidi girl turned seventeen. It is incredible to me that I have a 17 yr. old. I so remember that blonde, curly hair that had everybody stopping me and commenting everywhere I went. Heidi has been a joy, Andrew and I are so proud of her. She loves Jesus with all her heart. She studies hard in school and makes good grades. She is trying to decide what college to go to and is asking God to guide her. She has the best sense of humor and has quick, smart-aleck come backs when someone is teasing her. (that's my girl)
This weekend the kids are all down in Wasilla for the soccer tournament, so we had a little birthday party for her Tuesday evening. (they left Wednesday) That picture above is funny because you can see Aurora looking in the door window, wishing she was included in the celebration.

Happy Birthday to Heidi! Being 17 (or anywhere near there) is such a great time in your life...oh, yes, so much drama, drama, drama. Sounds like she is a fantastic gal!

Happy Birthday Heidi and Mommy, Every year at the time to celebrate your birth I remember that it has been that long since Gramp and I made our first trip to China. The day you were born your Daddy kept me posted by phone on the progress of both "his" little girls". On that day I was refinishing the twin beds and praying for a healthy Moma and Baby. Enjoy those teen years and live each day so that there will be no regrets. We love you, our first Granddaughter, Gram and Gramp

A much belated birthday to two of my favorite gals!! So sorry this is late but, as my fine lookin' wife knows I was out callin' moose for my good friend DQ from Ohio.( He would want me to say formerly from TN.)We were able to call him out a lil' bull winkle Friday evening about 8:00 pm and for those of you that know Darrell, I can't wait to hear versions of his hunting story after he's had a few weeks to "refine" it (as only a true red-neck knows how to refine).... as Ben Franklin once said- "never let the truth stand in the way of a good story"
I agree with my lovely wife, that Heidi has been a joy to have as a first born! Great sense of humor, good christian example for younger siblings, likes to keep her room clean....and has pretty much bought into my way of thinking that she should be at least 22 before she worry's about gittin' hitched!!!
As to my girlfriend's birthday...(who thinks I forgot because I didn't call her on the Sat. phone) I did not forget and I will give you your present when I see you Thursday evening!!(No, it's not what you are thinkin')On that note, would you go out with me Sat. night to the resturant of your choice? I can say "of your choice" and all your friends that don't live in Fairbank's will think that I'm a big spender!!! Anyway I need to catch 4-5 hrs. of sleep, so I better run but it sure has been nice helping you celebrate the last 23 birthdays. One more comment on your week-end getaway blog a couple weeks ago.... Pink never looked so good in the back seat of a super-cub and I've wished a 100 times that I WOULD have landed on that nice gravel bar that you thought I was going to land on... what exactly did you have in mind??? Andrew

Well, should I comment on your blog, Vonnie, or on Andrew's comments? He sounds just like his Uncle Carson! Happy birthday to both you and Heidi. We love you both!!

When I click to leave a comment I was going to talk about Heidi, but after reading Andrew's......No, I remember Heidi's fifth birthday and her comment to Andrew about she couldn't wait to drive...who would have thought it would only take such a short time. Having a five year old...I'm hopeing time will slow a bit! I hope you both had a great birthday! And like Momma said, I think Daddy wrote a post and put Andrew's name on it!!! Tell Andrew I said Hello!!

Ok, I was going to say happy birthday to Heidi, but I'd really like to talk about your birthday present, Vonnie! Mabye you need to monitor your comments to ensure some privacy! Ha! :) Andrew cracks me up. Happy birthday to both you and Heidi...trust me, I know how time has flown by with Justin. I found another cute photo of him and Heidi when she had that halo of white blonde curls. Does that mean we're getting old, friend? Naaah!
